HMRC have extended the deadline for migrating your UK export declarations to the Customs Declaration Service (CDS). You will now be able to process export clearances on the Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) system until 30th November 2023, eight months after the original deadline of 31st March 2023.

Four years later than planned, HMRC is making the move to CDS in 2022. But did you know that you might need to register for the Customs Declaration Service as a trader, not only if you are a customs broker?

As of March 31st 2023, the British Customs Authority will make the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) their single customs platform.
