When British companies import goods into the Netherlands to sell them to their customers in the Netherlands they have to pay Value Added Tax (VAT). They can redeem VAT from the British Tax Authority, but that can take time. And with cash flow, time is money.  

As of January 1st of 2021, the United Kingdom has left the European Union and is now a third country. This means that it is no longer possible to ship goods from the European Union to the United Kingdom with just a CMR.

It has been four years since the United Kingdom decided to leave the European Union. Negotiations are still going, but a quick deal doesn’t seem to be near. Let’s have a look at where we stand currently.
